America 250: Built From Many Ingredients

An illustration series celebrating 250 years of America through its unofficial national archive: comfort food. Pizza, fries, tacos, hot dogs and other edible icons are reconstructed into bold geometric forms using a red, white, and blue palette with retro visual cues.

This collection treats food as cultural typography. Every ingredient carries history. Every shape hints at migration, adaptation, and reinvention. America’s identity was never designed as a fixed grid. It expanded through layers, overlap, and unexpected combinations.

At 250, looking back feels less about nostalgia and more about recognizing that America’s strongest aesthetic has always been remix culture.

Turns out the melting pot had excellent branding.
